He is a student at Totsuki Culinary Academyand a resident of Polar Star Dormitory. he and the other resident students from this hostel befriended with their fellow roommate/kouhai, Yukihira Soma whom also seen the amazing skill of the freshman. It is due to he rarely cooks, Zenji is considered as the weakest chef among the Polar Star Gang despite his brains has seemly possessed with infinite knowledge about cooking and black-&-white documents.
