Mikado Shijo
Mikado is the twin brother of Maki. He is among the story's smartest characters, as he placed first in the national mock exam during freshman year, to Miyuki's second place. As such, Miyuki has had an obsession with beating him in a rematch. However, Mikado chose to attend a nearby public school in order to play soccer with his friends.
After leading his team to the national championship, Mikado transfers to Shuchiin, where he becomes a member of Class 3-A, along with all of the story's notable third years, including Kaguya, Miyuki, Maki, Chika and Ai.
Mikado is revealed to be very much a normal teenager, albeit a genius, as he has normal worries like being able to make friends at a new school. He also readily defers to his sister, despite finding her crazy and incomprehensible. Interestingly, Mikado is very similar to Miyuki, and the two quickly go from misunderstood rivals to close friends.
