A famous 2-star ancient ruins hunter and the father of Gon Freeccs. When Ging was a child, he left his home on Whale Island to become a hunter and did not return home for 10 years, carrying a young Gon whom he entrusted to Mito. He is the primary reason Gon decides to leave home, following in his footsteps to become a hunter and find his father. He is one of the founders of the legendary video game Greed Island. He is also a member of the Zodiacs, having as a sign the boar.
