One of Amagi's many followers, Roren is a mononoke capable of masterful illusions. Compared to others of his kind, he isn't particularly powerful in a brawl; however, when using his illusions, he can enhance himself or cause disadvantages for others to gain the upper hand. Generally wields a flag while using his powers, and is also able to hold up a barrier on top of his trickery.

Roren, for the most part, hates humans, saying they make him want to vomit. He'll make no attempt to hide his disgust for humans, and more often is smug about everything, even going as far as trying to embarrass some with his illusions. In general, Roren is a self-centered hedonist, not having much ambitions for himself. Despite this, he does later awaken a liking to being dominated, primarily enjoying cold and sadistic women. Upon this discovery, Roren becomes a pushover to sadism. Additionally, he begins to enjoy parts of human culture, such as music and fashion. He also wears some form of mask all the time, be it a gas mask or a standard surgical mask. Why he chooses to is unknown. Roren discovered his like for sadistic women after being defeated by Ichika Kishimojin. As he was getting pushed around by her, he started to enjoy it and, to Ichika's dismay, fell in love with her. Luckily for her, she can use it to get information or help from him for the Bureau. Even though Roren was a part of Amagi's cause, he never actually believed in it, and instead was just keeping an eye on the situation. As he was captured by the Bureau, he joined forces with them, still acting as a spy. Though Roren does watch what's going on, he will side with either side that has a better prospect, for a while, at least.
