Tsuneo Imahori
Wiki (jp)
Tsuneo Imahori is a Japanese guitarist and composer, and has worked with Youko Kanno as a member of The Seatbelts.
He started to play acoustic guitar at the age of twelve, inspired by British folk music from the likes of Bert Jansch, and later the work of Frank Zappa and Andy Partridge. In 1986 he formed the band Tipographica, with saxophonist Naruyoshi Kikuchi and jazz pianist Akira Minakami. After four albums, the group disbanded in 1996.
In 2002, after providing the soundtrack for the PS2 video game, Gungrave, the concept was subsequently developed into an anime series, which's score was also handled by Imahori. In addition to scoring the anime series, he composed the music for the video game's sequel Gungrave: Overdose. He is perhaps best known in the US as the composer of several anime soundtracks, primarily Trigun, Hajime no Ippo and the aforementioned Gungrave.
He has also contributed in tracks, as either a composer or a guitarist, for shows such as Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Texhnolyze, NieA Under 7 and Oh! My Goddess.
