篠原征子
Masako Shinohara
A veteran animator who was active since the early days of Toei Animation.
The first person to be credited for in-betweens check. Participated in numerous of Miyazaki's and Takahata's works and was known for her depiction of everyday life animation and drawings of female characters. While working on Ghibli movies, she left the high-octane scenes to the younger generations and handled more mundane scenes herself.
She helped Yasuo Ootsuka as an animation director on The Castle of Cagliostro, handling the supervision of the cuts involving Clarisse. This was apparently because Ootsuka wasn't as confident in his drawings of pretty women.
Retired after Howl's Moving Castle in 2004. Passed away on August 25, 2015.
